Whether you are starting your day with coffee or need a pick-me-up, later on, coffee is a go-to for most Americans. For backcountry visitors, it is also a way to warm up quickly on a cold winter day. Luckily for you, Julian has lots of great coffee options.

Full disclosure: I am not a coffee drinker, so I reached out to my coffee-drinking neighbors to put together this highly requested guide on where to get great coffee in Julian.

Regulars Wanted

Julian’s only true coffee shop, Regulars Wanted is known for its organic, free-trade coffee and fresh baked goods. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered, and I am in love with their lemon cookies. When I asked my neighbors about their coffee, they highly recommended it. Locals love their hazelnut coffee, iced latte with almond milk, and their lavender latte. Bonus! They have gluten-free and vegan goodies.

Julian Beer Co.

In addition to good food, JBC is known for having classic French-press coffee.

Julian Pie Co.

Locals love to start their day by enjoying a cup of Farmer Brothers dark roast coffee with an apple cider donut. Decaf coffee is also available.

Soups and Such

Soups and Such has a reputation for serving delicious, strong French-press and pour-over coffee. Most backcountry residents love how their iced coffee is made with coffee ice cubes!

Julian Cafe

The Cafe is a popular place for cappuccinos and lattes. They also have other hot drinks for those who don’t drink coffee.

Mom’s Pie House

For fresh pies and coffee, this is the place to come. Mom’s is known for having a great iced vanilla latte.

California Mountain Bakery

Enjoy freshly baked goodies with your morning cup of Joe. Locals highly recommend their decaf coffee.

Don’s Market

If you're looking for a cheap and good cup of coffee, Don’s is the place to come. You many also find the line is shorter here than at a restaurant in town.

Romano's Italian Restaurant

My neighbor loves Romano’s coffee because they sprinkle cinnamon on it.

Ramco Petroleum ("The Gas Station")

Ramco is the place to come for a quick cup of coffee. Locals like that it is cheap and a decent brew. Their iced coffee was also recommended. I like their hot chocolate.

Julian American Legion

Our local American Legion Post is a popular hangout spot for locals and they have coffee!
