Things Worth Driving Down the Hill For

When the round-trip drive-time to the closest major grocery store is 1 to 2 hours, long distances just don't seem so long anymore. Most Julian locals are very accustomed to driving down the hill for anything and almost everything. Our trips off the mountain are planned as a full day of running errands around scheduled appointments. Sometimes, a certain craving is strong enough to drive down the hill just for a special trip. Without further ado, here are the things I believe are worth driving at least 30 miles down the hill (and back) for!

Costco

What’s not to love about Costco? Even errands like a car wash and getting gas are fun there. From good cheap foodcourt food to their warehouse packed full of food I love, I have definitely driven down the hill just to get a few items from Costco.

In-N-Out

You’re not a true Californian if In-N-Out isn’t one of your favorite restaurants. Right? Cool, glad we agree. Just in case you ever want to make my day, my order is a number two, no onions, cheese fries, and a root beer. ;)

Krispy Kremes

Don’t get me wrong; I love the locally made cider donuts. It’s just sometimes, this girl craves a fluffy Krispy Kreme donate or two...okay more like five. Don’t judge my sweet tooth!

Chick-fil-A

I was a bit late to the Chick-fil-A fan train. I’m going to blame my tardiness on geographic limitations. But, hey! Once, I tried their sweet tea; there’s been no other drink on my mind as much as this one. I once accidentally went straight in a no-through intersection trying to get some of their sweet tea. Oops! Yea yea yea, don’t judge me. The intersection was badly marked and where traffic lights don’t exist. The point being, I’d definitely drive down the hill just for some Chick-fil-A.
